FoxT Delivers Access Management for Linux Desktops
Secure single sign-on capabilities extended to include Linux desktops
Palo Alto, CA - April 23, 2007 - Fox Technologies, Incorporated (www.foxt.com), a leading provider of enterprise compliance and access management solutions, today announced that their FoxT IT Controls (BoKS) access management solution has been extended to include a PKI client with application single sign-on capabilities on Linux desktops.
The new product, BoKS Desktop for Linux, is a key component of FoxT Access Control for Workstations and FoxT Access Control for Applications, two solutions within the FoxT IT Controls (BoKS) suite. These solutions provide centralized user administration of accounts and access rights; secure authentication to applications and services using certificates; encrypted communication to applications; and secure single sign-on.
"BoKS Desktop for Linux is an extension of the existing BoKS Client for Unix and acts as the authentication manager and local client for encrypting the link to the application," reports Per Eliasson, Product Manager for FoxT IT Controls. "What's unique is that BoKS Desktop for Linux enables a user to log in with a certificate and communicate with the BoKS Agents, which together provide secure single sign-on for applications."
Other key features of BoKS Desktop for Linux include:
- Centrally managed user accounts, passwords, Unix password policies, certificates, and tokens
- Secure login by a certificate stored on a Virtual Card
- Encrypted SSL communication between the workstation and any application or service on another host that is protected by a BoKS Agent (e.g. telnet, SAP, Oracle)
- Enhances security and simplifies user administration without affecting the Linux operating system kernel
